Facilitation Skills
DIFCIA Knowledge Hub
Facilitation is a crucial skill in today's fast-paced and dynamic workplace. It is the art of guiding groups towards constructive and effective decision-making. A skilled facilitator can help create an environment conducive to open communication, active participation, and consensus-building.
In our Facilitation Skills workshop, participants will learn how to facilitate meetings, workshops, and group discussions with confidence and ease. This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the facilitation process, including key concepts, techniques, and best practices.
Participants will profoundly understand the facilitator's role and responsibilities and learn to differentiate between process and content in a group discussion. They will also receive tips on choosing and preparing for facilitation and discover how to manage groups in each of Tuckman and Jensen's stages of group development: forming, storming, norming, and performing.
In addition, participants will learn how to help a group reach a consensus by encouraging participation and choosing a solution. They will also receive guidelines on how to deal with disruptions, dysfunctions, and difficult people in groups. Finally, the workshop will explore the concept of interventions, when they are appropriate, and how to implement them effectively.
By the end of this workshop, participants will have the tools and skills to facilitate any meeting or group discussion with confidence and success.
